Aangan "The soul of rajasthan"

Description

My house design is inspired by the traditional homes of Rajasthan, where the aangan (courtyard) is the heart of the house. The whole layout is made in such a way that every room opens towards the aangan. This open space brings natural light, fresh air, and a feeling of calmness into the house. The house has thick walls, small windows, arches, and natural materials like sandstone and lime plaster, which keep the interiors cool during the hot desert climate. The design is simple, traditional, and climate-friendly. The aangan not only works as a ventilation space but also becomes the main gathering area for family activities, similar to old Rajasthani homes. The beauty of the house is enhanced with wooden doors, jharokhas, colorful fabrics, pottery, and handmade décor that reflect Rajasthan’s culture. Because the entire design revolves around the aangan, the project name “Aangan” perfectly represents the concept. It shows that the courtyard is not just a space, but the soul of the home, connecting tradition, comfort, and natural living.
