Smart Attendance is an automated attendance management system developed using Java, JavaScript, and MySQL. The main objective of this project is to simplify the attendance process, reduce manual work, and prevent proxy attendance in colleges, schools, and organizations. The system uses face recognition and an external fingerprint sensor to verify student identities before recording attendance. Students can register their biometric details, and the system verifies their identity during attendance sessions. Once verification is successful, the student's attendance status, date, and time are automatically stored in the MySQL database. The Java backend manages authentication, biometric verification, attendance processing, and database operations. JavaScript, HTML, and CSS provide an interactive and user-friendly interface for students, teachers, and administrators. MySQL securely manages student information, biometric references, attendance records, and reports. The system also includes features such as automatic present and absent status calculation, duplicate attendance prevention, daily and monthly attendance reports, low-attendance alerts, and teacher-controlled corrections for failed verification.
